The Lyons had a strong showing on Saturday at the Bowdoin Invitational with a quick tune-up meet before next week's Regional Championships at Springfield College.
Sophomore Kevin Fischer led the way for the Lyons with his victory in the 600 meters with a time of (1:23.49). That time qualifies him for the New England Division III Championships and places him 5th all-time in Wheaton College history in the event.
In the 60m Hurdles, the men were lead by both first-year Matthew Cahill and sophomore Marcel Smith who both ran a time of (8.69) to place 2nd and 3rd overall and also putting themselves 5th and 6th all-time in Wheaton College History in the event. Junior Hudson Ingoldsby finished right behind them in 4th place running a personal best time of (8.98).
Junior John Billings placed 2nd overall in the 200-meter dash running a time of (23.34) and he was quickly followed by Smith who doubled back in the 200 meters placing 6th overall.
Sophomore Dominic Sclafani placed 6th overall in the mile with a time of (4:31.43).
Cahill doubled back in the high jump later in the day placing 3rd overall with a jump of (1.80m).
