Fischer and Cahill Compete at Tufts National Qualifier

The Lyons come off of last week's 3 All-Region performances sending two to the Tufts National Qualifier.

First-year Matthew Cahill came in 8th overall in the preliminary round of the 60-meter hurdles running a time of 8.98. That time qualified him for the finals where he came in 6th overall with a time of 8.73.

Sophomore Kevin Fischer competed in the 800 meters running a time of 1:59.77.

Cahill wraps up a very successful first indoor track and field campaign which saw him set PR's of 8.59 in the 60-meter hurdles and a jump of 1.90 meters in the high jump. Those marks put him on Wheaton College's All-time Top 10 List. He is 4th all-time in the 60-meter hurdles and 8th all-time in the high jump.

Fischer wraps up his sophomore indoor track and field campaign which saw him set 3 new PR's in the 600 meters 1:23.15, 800 meters 1:57.70, and 1000 meters 2:35.51. Fischer was also the leadoff leg for the Lyons 4x400 meter relay were he consistently split 50.7 always putting the Lyons in a great position for that second leg. Those marks also put him on Wheaton College's All-Time Top 10 list. He is 4th all-time in the 1000 meters, 5th all-time in the 600 meters, and 6th all-time in the 800 meters.

The Lyons are on to the Outdoor Track and Field season which kicks off March 20th in Atlanta, Georgia at the Emory Invitational.
