Kelly Allen will enter her sixth season as the assistant men and women's throws coach for the track and field team at Wheaton College during the 2018-19 academic year.
Prior to Wheaton College Allen had an outstanding four-year career at Tufts University where she competed on the track and field team and served as captain her senior year.
She was an 11-time nationals qualifier, garnered All American accolades five times (four in the discus and once in the weight throw), was a five-time ECAC Champion in (disc/shot), three-time All New England Champion in (Disc) and also hold the All-New England Championship record (49.85m), was eleven time New England D3 champion (disc, hammer, shot, weight) and holds the New England D3 record in the disc (49.52m), and was eight-time NESCAC Champion (disc, shot, hammer, javelin). She still holds the Tufts school record in the discus with a toss of 49.85m and the indoor shot put with a toss of 13.87m.
Additionally, she was twice selected as the USTFCCCA New England Outdoor Field Athlete of the year (2012, 2013), and twice selected as the NESCAC Most Outstanding Female Performer (2011,2013).
A 2013 Tufts University graduate, Allen earned a degree in Child Development and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Special Education at Bridgewater State University.
Outside the Track and Field world Allen is a 4th-grade teacher at Henri A Yelle Elementary in Norton and is the Head Girls Varsity Volleyball Coach in the fall at Norton High School.
