- The Wheaton College men's cross country team opened the 2018 season with a dual meet against New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival Babson on Friday evening with the Lyons coming out on top after scoring 22 points to the Beavers 34.
- Junior Jack Muldoon led the way for the Lyons with a time of 16:35, which was good enough to edge out the Beavers top runner by two-tenths of a second for first place.
- Luke Thombs was the second Wheaton runner to finish, taking home third place with a time of 16:41, while first-years Dominic Sclafani (16:56) and Finlay McIsaac (17:11) finished fifth and sixth respectively.
- Will Entwisle wasn't far behind, finishing seventh with a time of 17:14 in the 5k race, while Tom Doyle rounded out the Lyons in the top-10 with a time of 17:22.
UP NEXT: The Lyons return to the course on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Smith Invitational.
