Berardi Earns NEWMAC Softball Pitcher Of The Week

Senior claims third career honor

NORTON, Mass. – Wheaton College senior Emily Berardi (Boston, Mass./Boston Latin) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Berardi went 2-0 in the circle for the Lyons over nine innings pitched, seven hits, one run (unearned), one walk and six strikeouts. The senior, who collected victories versus Babson and Coast Guard, also hit .389/.389/.722 with three runs, three doubles, one home run and six RBI.

Berardi has now won three NEWMAC weekly awards this season claiming Pitcher of the Week accolades on March 16 and Player of the Week honors on March 30.

Wheaton (17-3, 10-0 NEWMAC) travels to Wellesley College, last season's NEWMAC Champion, on Friday, April 10 for a doubleheader at 3 p.m. The Blue are 8-6 overall and 2-2 in league play this season.
