WESTWOOD, Mass. - Wheaton College senior first-baseman Jade Assad was named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Second-Team as announced by the league office. The all-conference nod is the second of Assad's career. The senior earned a spot on the first-team following the 2018 season.
The senior played in all 38 of the Lyons games, finishing the season ranked fourth in the NEWMAC in home runs (6), fifth in total bases (67) and slugging percentage (.593), ninth in doubles (10), and 12th in runs batted in (24).
Assad led the Lyons in at-bats (113), while also leading the team in hits (39), doubles, home runs, and RBIs. She was second on the team in batting average (.345) and walks (11).
Wheaton ended the season with a 21-17 overall record and 7-11 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) standing.
