NORTON, Mass. – Wheaton College senior forward Abbie Brickley (Sandy, Utah/Skyline) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week. Brickley shares the honor with Morgyne Weaver of Wellesley College.
Brickley guided Wheaton to a 2-0 week overall averaging 25.5 points per game, 10.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and a 76.7 field goal percentage (23-for-30). Against Colorado College on Friday, Brickley poured in a career-high 33 points on 14-of-19 shooting from the field, which included a 5-for-6 showing from the free throw line, alongside a game-high 14 rebounds to lead the Lyons to an 84-68 victory. Brickley's 33 points ranks third-highest in a single-game in program history.
