  • Both teams started the first quarter sluggish, going on several scoreless streaks, combining for just 17 points.
  • The first quarter ended with neither team scoring in over three minutes, which was extended into the first minute of the second quarter. The draught was ended by an Aguirre jumper that increased the Blue lead to 11-8. An untraditional three-point play from Abby Hamilton tied the game at 11-11, while back-to-back free-throws from Sadie Shore handed the Lyons lead with 6:24 remaining in the half. Wheaton held onto the lead until the final minute and a half when a three-pointer from Aguirre handed the lead back to Wellesley (20-18). The Blue ended the half with three made free-throws, taking a slim 23-18 lead into the intermission.
