WESTWOOD, Mass. - Wheaton College sophomore Mikayla Pucci was named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference Second-Team as announced by the league office Tuesday. The honor is the first of Pucci's career.
The forward ended the season ranked second overall in points per game (14.8), third in field goals (146-303), fourth in total points (.369), seventh in free-throws (73-103) and free-throw percentage (70.9), 14th in defensive rebounds (98), 16th in total rebounds (138) and rebounds per game (5.5).
As a team, the Lyons concluded the season with an overall record of 9-16 and a 4-12 NEWMAC record.
Also picking up a post-season honor is junior Natalie Wind who earned a spot on the NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship. The NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship Team is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of his/her overall performance or statistics for the season.
