Strong 1st Half, Not Enough For Women's Basketball Against Babson

NORTON, Mass.- The Wheaton College women's basketball team fell to Babson 78-60 despite a strong first half.

The Lyons were led by senior Mikayla Pucci who had a team-high 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor. Fellow classmate Natalie Wind scored 13 points going 3-of-5 from behind the arc. Brooke Harvey led the Lyons off the bench with 5 points. First-year Bri Forbes finished with 4 points and 4 rebounds.

Wheaton took a 6-4 lead with 6:34 remaining in the first quarter after a Wind made jumper. The Lyons lead was extended when Wind hit a three-pointer to take an 11-point lead with 3:30 remaining in the quarter. Forbes hit a jumper with 0:03 seconds remaining to take a 24-14 lead going into the second quarter. Babson went on a 15-0 run to start the second quarter regaining their lead 29-24. The Lyons trailed 29-28 at halftime. Babson had a strong third quarter that propelled them to victory 78-60.
