BOSTON, Mass. - Senior goalkeeper Molly Witten was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Witten posted a 59.3 save percentage in a 2-0 week for the Lyons. Witten stopped 72.2 percent of the shots she faced in a 6-5, nonconference win over Bridgewater State on Monday, including a point-blank shot with one second left on the clock. Additionally, the senior stopped three in Wheaton's Saturday NEWMAC victory over Mount Holyoke. Witten collected six ground balls in the pair of wins as well.
Wheaton returns to the field on Wednesday, March 28 at 7 p.m. on Diane C. Nordin '80 Field against Plymouth State.
