Women's Lacrosse Defeats Susquehanna in Puerto Rico

  • The Wheaton College women's lacrosse team was led by senior Kyra Schwartzman who netted nine goals in today's match. Seniors Lilly Callahan and Molly Covarrubias each had a hat-trick while Emma Ford, Danielle Trudeau and Brooke Harvey all contributed one goals apiece in the Lyons win.

  • Schwartzman also picked up ten draw controls and five ground balls while Blake Ferretti recorded six ground balls for the Lyons. Trudeau also had three assists and Covarrubias picked up two assists. 

  • Susquehanna University was led by Caroline Chase who had four goals, while Gabi Toohey had three goals. Nicole Hauck and Stephanie Dowling found the back of the net twice while Katie Hoerman, Alison Heimer, Tori Lombardi, and Christine Hoerman all contributed one apiece. 

  • The Lyons opened up the first half strong scoring 11 goals while Susquehanna was only able to put five goals in the first half. In the second half,Susquehanna came out of half time very strong and put up a good fight against the Lyons out scoring them 10 to 7 but it wasn't enough to defeat Wheaton as they secured their first win in Puerto Rico 18-15. 

  • Jena Casman picked up the win in net after making 10 saves after seeing 25 shots.
