Here we go Hibees! A common phrase we heard throughout the second day in Scotland as we traveled, played, and cheered amongst Hibs fans. In the early morning, the team was guided on a full stadium tour by the one and only Sue. Sue was eager to help and show us everything there is to do with Hibernian F.C.
Throughout the tour, we saw notable attractions of the club such as the media room, changing facilities, press and manager boxes, and countless amounts of boots. After getting full access to the stadium, we headed on over to the Hibs training grounds where we were met by two of the coaches from the club. They coached us through a full practice including warm-ups, passing drills, possession drills, and even 6 v. 6 games where Coach Katy's team absolutely smashed Coach Cip's team. After the hard work was done, it was time for some good food.
The Italian scene in Scotland answered with a great meal, good laughs, and weird looks at the trophy Coach Bobby keeps lugging around everywhere. The food brought us some energy as we attended the last and most exciting event of the day; the Edinburgh Derby. The Edinburgh Derby consists of a contest of the most epic proportions as two of the oldest football teams in Scotland, the Hibernian "Hibs", and the Hearts of Midlothian battle it out to see who will be crowned Edinburgh Derby champion that year.
This year was an unfortunate one for the Hibs as they fell 1-0 to the Hearts after a dominating performance and slew of missed chances. This game proved to not dampen the mood at all as the team was encouraged to let loose and explore the city after the match. Overall, another amazing day in Scotland, be sure to check out the video footage below.
