NORTON, Mass. - Wheaton College sophomore midfielder Chloe Troy and junior defender Kyla Magalhaes were named to the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) All-Region Second-Team as announced by the organization.
Troy, who was named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference Second-Team and United Soccer Coaches Division III New England All-Region, ended the season with a team-leading 11 goals which ranked her sixth in the NEWMAC. Of those 11 goals, six of them were game-winners which led the league. The midfielder also finished with seven assists for 29 points in 18 games. The 29 points are third-best in the conference.
Magalhaes, who also earned NEWMAC All-Conference Second-Team honors, started in all 18 of the Lyons games this season anchoring the defense. The junior helped Wheaton to five shutouts, while also getting in on the attack, scoring once, while being credited with six assists.
The Lyons, who qualified for the NEWMAC Tournament as the sixth seed, ended the season with an 8-6-4 mark and 5-4-1 NEWMAC standing.
