Madden, Leach, Thomsen and Morris honored by the conference
NORTON, Mass. – The Wheaton College women's swimming 400-free relay team has claimed the first-ever New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Relay Team of the Week award, it was announced by the league office earlier today.
Sophomore Courtney Leach (Gilford, N.H./Gilford), junior Cara Morris (Irvington, N.Y./Irvington), freshman Lindsey Thomsen (Gorham, Maine/Gorham) and senior Adrianne Madden (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) placed first overall in the 400-free relay with a time of 3:43.25 beating Coast Guard's "A" team by nearly ten-seconds last weekend.
The NEWMAC office added Relay Team of the Week awards this season on both the men's and women's side to its weekly honor roll to recognize noteworthy relay performances across the conference.
Last Saturday, the Lyons fell to the Bears, 156-131, despite finishing first overall in seven events. Madden touched-first in two events (50-free, 100-free), while Leach also notched a first place performance in the 100-fly.
Wheaton will take on Roger Williams in a dual meet on Friday, November 15 at 5:00 p.m.
