Wheaton's 200-medley relay went undefeated in three meets
NORTON, Mass. – The Wheaton College women's swimming 200-medley relay team earned New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Relay Team of the Week honors as announced by the league office on Monday.
Kelley Baylis (Newtown, Conn./Newtown), Nina Lanctot (Chatham, Mass.), Cara Morris (Irvington, N.Y./Irvington) and Adrianne Madden (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) picked up three wins in the 200-medley relay on the week against Clark, Mount Holyoke and Trinity. In their double dual on Friday versus Clark and Mount Holyoke, the quartet posted a time of 1:52.90, while the Lyons also finished with a first place time of 1:52.42 against Trinity.
Earlier this season, Madden and Morris collected NEWMAC Relay Team of the Week accolades along with teammates Courtney Leach (Gilford, N.H./Gilford) and Lindsey Thomsen (Gorham, Maine/Gorham) for their efforts in the 400-free relay against Coast Guard on November 11, 2013.
The NEWMAC office added Relay Team of the Week awards this season on both the men's and women's side to its weekly honor roll to recognize noteworthy relay performances across the conference.
Wheaton hosts Babson College and St. Joseph's (Maine) next Saturday at 1 p.m. on "Senior Day" inside Balfour Natatorium.
