Lyons undefeated on the season with 4-0 record
NORTON, Mass. - Wheaton College women's tennis junior co-captain Alexandra Marlowe (Mesa, Ariz./Mountain View) and freshman Amanda Brazell (Las Vegas, Nev./The Meadows School) have been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Doubles Team of the Week.
Marlowe teamed up with Brazell for her first-ever collegiate No.1 doubles match against Springfield last Saturday. The duo breezed to an 8-0 victory to help the Lyons to their second conference victory of the season.
So far this season, Brazell is 2-1 at No.2 doubles with senior Morgan Bell (Gloucester, Mass./Pingree School) and 4-0 overall in singles play including a 3-0 mark at No.4 and a 1-0 record at No.3. Marlowe is undefeated at No.1 singles with a 4-0 record and also has an unblemished mark in doubles play at 4-0.
Marlowe picks up her fifth-career NEWMAC Doubles Team of the Week honor, while Brazell claims her first-ever NEWMAC weekly award.
The Lyons (4-0) host Smith College next Saturday at 1 p.m. in a conference match at Clark Tennis Courts.
