Women's Tennis Takes Down Emerson 8-1

THE RUNDOWN:  

  • The Wheaton College women's tennis team took down Emerson College 8-1 Saturday afternoon in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action. 
  • Wheaton opened with a sweep of doubles, starting with a win from Harley Swainston and Connor O'Keefe in the No. 3 spot who won 8-2. 
  • Ines de Bracamonte and Miriam Galindo Cerrada followed with an 8-2 win of their own (No. 1), before an 8-4 win from Isabelle Garvanne and Allison Burton (No. 2). 
  • de Bracamonte kept the winning going with a 6-0, 6-1 win (No. 1), which was followed by a 6-1, 6-0 win from Garvanne in the No. 2 spot. 
  • Galindo Cerrada put Wheaton ahead 5-0 win a 6-2, 7-5 win in the three spot, which was followed by a  6-3, 6-2 win from Burton (No. 5) and a 6-1, 6-3 win from Swainston (No. 6). 

UP NEXT: Wheaton returns to action on Sunday, April 14 for a 1 p.m. non-conference contest against Bates.
