de Bracamonte Named NEWMAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Year

WESTWOOD, Mass. - Wheaton College senior Ines de Bracamonte was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Tennis Athlete of the Year after a 2019 season that saw her go undefeated in NEWMAC action. With the honor, the senior also earns a spot on the NEWMAC All-Conference First-Team. 

de Bracamonte, who is currently ranked 15th in the region, lost just two singles matches all season all from the No. 1 position. The senior wrapped up doubles with a 9-7 record after splitting time paired up with Miriam Galindo Cerrada and Isabelle Garvanne

As a unit, the Lyons wrapped up the season with a 7-10 overall record and 4-4 conference standing, earning the No. 5 seed in the NEWMAC tournament. For the second consecutive season, Wheaton advanced to the NEWMAC Semifinals.
