Women’s 4x400m Earns NEWMAC Women’s Track Relay Team Of The Week Honors

Lyons' relay team posted a winning time of 4:05.63

NORTON, Mass. – Sophomore Emily Gustavson (Sturbridge, Mass./Tantasqua Regional), first-years Abby Epplett (Uxbridge, Mass./Whitinsville Christian) and Elizabeth Akindolie (Providence, R.I./Classical) and sophomore two-time All-American Kelly Ludew (Lebanon, N.H./Lebanon) have claimed New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Relay Team of the Week accolades.

The quartet continued Wheaton's dominance in the 4x400-meter relay at the Roadrunner Invitational last weekend winning the event for the fourth-straight season with a time of 4:05.63.

Ludew is now a three-time NEWMAC Relay Team of the Week honoree, while Gustavson collects her second career honor and Epplett and Akindolie both claim their first career accolades, respectively.

Last season, the NEWMAC office added Relay Team of the Week awards on both the men's and women's side to its weekly honor roll to recognize noteworthy relay performances across the conference. The Lyons have won four out of the seven Relay Team of the Week awards since its inception in 2014.

Wheaton is currently scheduled to compete at Brown University and the University of Delaware this weekend.
