Women's Track and Field Place Third at NYU DIII Invitational
LOCATION: The Armory -- New York, N.Y.

THE RUNDOWN:  

  • The Women's Track and Field team traveled to New York on Friday, Feb. 1, for the NYU Divison III Invitational where they placed third overall.
  • Briana Gausland set a new meet record in the 60m dash in a winning time of 7.96. Teammate Alexandra Case was eighth in the 60m dash. Her prelim time of 8.15 was a new personal record. Case also ran a new season best time of 26.60 to take second place in the 200m.
  • Ellen Shaw and Nina Schofield went 2-3 in the 60m hurdles.  Schofield's time of 9.54 was a new PR.
  • Kathrine Leckbee, Katie Brown and Emma Yount all finished in the top 10 of the women's 3k with big PRs.  Leckbee took ten seconds off her previous best 3k to finish third in a time of 10:37.04. Brown ran a 17 second PR to finish sixth in a time of 10:49 and Yount ran an 11 second PR to finish 10th in a time of 11:08.61.   
  • Nina Schofield and Natalie Laliberte went 4-5 in the Long Jump.

 

UP NEXT: Wheaton will return to the road on Friday, Feb. 8 to compete at the Valentine Invitational at Boston University.
