Women's Track and Field Travel to Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational

LOCATION: Doug Memorial Stadium - Myrtle Beach, S.C.


  • The women's track and field team traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on St. Patrick's Day weekend where they competed in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. 
  • Cathryn MacGregor (38.08 meters) and Maddie Amero (36.69) went 3-5 in Javelin. Both qualify for New England Divison III Championships.
  • Briana Gausland advanced to the finals in the 100m dash after finishing eighth in a time of 12.34 seconds in the semifinal round on Friday. In the finals, Gausland moved up three spots to finish fifth overall among a field of DI and DII athletes. Gausland's time also qualified her for the NE DIII Championships. 
  • Margaret Walker finished 24th in the open section of the 100m dash in a time of 12.88.
  • Ellen Shaw qualified for the NE DIII Championship in the 400m hurdles with a fifth-place finish and personal best time of 1:06.25. 
  • Alexandra Case finished 16th in the 200m dash in a NE DIII qualifying time of 26.15, an outdoor personal best. 
  • Shaw (15.53: 14th) and Nina Schofield (15.81- 18th) both qualified for NE DIII Championships in 100m hurdles.
  • Kathrine Leckbee and Katie Brown finished ninth and 11th in the 5000m run. Their personal best times put them on Wheaton top 10 list. 
  • Abby LeBlanc placed 12th in 3000m steeplechase in a time of 12:52.48. 


UP NEXT: Wheaton travels to Tufts next Saturday, March 30, where they will compete in the Snowflake Classic.
