NEW ORLEANS – All-Region honors for the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced Sunday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season. Representing the Lyons were first-year Kathrine Leckbee (steeplechase) and senior Cathryn MacGregor (javelin).
Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team. A total of 1915 honors were handed out to athletes from USTFCCCA member institutions, which included a near-even split between men's (951) and women's programs (964).
Leckbee put in her best steeplechase performance at the MIT Division III Final Qualifying Meet on May 16, finishing the event in 11:12.78. The time is the 30th best in all of Division III.
MacGregor, who earned Wheaton's Dean Sue Alexander Female Senior Student-Athlete honor, is the only Lyon headed to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships which are set for May 23 in Geneva, Ohio.
