Volleyball Defeats Smith; Falls to RWU in Five

NORTON, Mass. - The Wheaton College volleyball team defeated Smith 3-1 (25-16, 24-26, 25-13, 25-18) Saturday morning in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action. The Lyons then took on Roger Williams later in the day, falling to the Hawks 3-2 (20-25, 25-22, 19-25, 26-24, 7-15) in non-conference play. 

Against Smith, the Lyons were led by a match-high 15 kills from Julia Palomba, with Bailey Madrzyk contributing 13 kills in the win, while Adara HamiltonCasey Dinga, and Haley McCreight all finished eight. Becca Houghton wrapped up the match with a match-high 40 assists, while Ariana Rajaee led all players with 23 digs. 

The Roger Williams contest saw Palomba once again finish with 15 kills, while Hamilton chipped in 14. Houghton ended the game with 23 assists, while Sophie Wilhelm had 25 digs.
