WESTWOOD, Mass. - Wheaton College senior Becca Houghton and junior Julia Palomba were named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference Second-Team as announced by the league office on Thursday.
Houghton ended the season ranked second in the league in services aces (59) and aces per set (.60), while finishing sixth in assists (760), and seventh in assists per set (7.76). Nationally, Houghton finished 61st in aces per set and 68th in service aces. Houghton ends her career ranked second in Wheaton history in career assists (3,418) and aces (275).
Palomba wrapped up the season ranked sixth in the NEWMAC in kills (339), eighth in total attacks (864), fifth in points (386.0), and points per set (4.0). Nationally, Palomba was 72nd in kills per set and 79th in points per set.
Wheaton, who qualified for the 2019 NEWMAC Tournament as the fourth seed, saw its season come to an end with a 19-12 overall record and 6-4 NEWMAC standing.
