Leckbee All-Region; Women's Cross Country Finishes 21st at New England Regionals

THE RUNDOWN:  

  • The Wheaton College women's cross country team finished 21st out of 57 teams Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III New England Cross Country Championships hosted by Bowdoin College.
  • First-year Katherine Leckbee finished the race in 30th place out of 399 runners earning New England All-Region honors. Leckbee, who completed the race in 22:44.29, was the third fastest first-year. 
  • Senior Rebecca Miceli was the next Lyon to cross the finish line, doing so in 24:33.19, which earned her 149th place. 
  • Katie Brown wrapped up the race in 24:34.58, while Emma Yount finished her first regional in 24:52.92. 
  • Rounding out the top-five was Mia Hartl who finished in 25:02.52. 

UP NEXT: Next on Wheaton's schedule is the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, which will be hosted by Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Nov. 17.
