Women's Cross Country Finishes 5th at KSU Invitational

LOCATION: Keene, N.H. (Keene State Cross Country Course)

THE RUNDOWN:  

  • The Wheaton College women's cross country team topped three New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) teams Saturday afternoon at the Keene State Invitational. The Lyons, who were one of five NEWMAC schools at the race, finished in fifth place out of 19 total teams. 
  • Sophomore Katherine Leckbee led Wheaton with an 11th place finish out of 185 runners with a time of 18:44.20.
  • Holly Cohan was the second Lyon to cross the finish line, finishing in 30th place with a time of 19:30.90, which set a new personal best for the senior. Katie Brown finished moments later, earning 38th place with a time of 19:40.90.  
  • Emma Yount finished her race in 20:14.10 with Hannah Brunelle rounding out the top-five with a time of 20:17.30. 

UP NEXT: Wheaton returns to the course on Saturday, Oct. 12 for the All New England Championship at Franklin Park in Boston.
